KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches (USC) association announced on Tuesday the members of the All-Region Teams, with the Landmark Conference placing seven players amongst the ranks.
Jack Long and Ben Alexander from Catholic University were both named to the All-Region First Team. Alexander, the Landmark selection as the 2019 Offensive Player of the Year, was named to the team as a forward. The sophomore boasted 17 goals, four assists, for 38 points. Long, who was selected as a goalkeeper, helped the Cardinals post 14 shutouts, setting a new Landmark season record by a team. Catholic allowed just three goals in conference games this season.
Four players found their way onto the All-Region Second Team. Ryan Kennedy from Catholic was named to the team as a defender. Kennedy, a First-Team All-Landmark selection as Defensive Player of the Year, helped the Cardinals defense allow just 15 goals in 2019, three in conference play. Joining Kennedy are Anthony Nagy of Moravian College as a midfielder, and JD Haaf (Elizabethown College) and Jon Roberts (University of Scranton), both who earned a spot as defenders. The trio were also named to the All-Landmark First Team.
Midfielder Darius Siahpoosh of Catholic University was named to the Third Team. The sophomore notched a league-leading eight assists and finished with 24 points.
