Landmark Announces Players of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference has released the Players of the Week for the sixth week of the season. The conference will recognize a student-athlete for each sport based on their contributions to their team throughout the season.

Offensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Whitman
Scranton (Fr., F, Bethlehem, Pa.)

Whitman helped lead Scranton to a pair of conference victories this week with three goals. She scored the Royals' first goal in a 2-1 victory over Moravian that stood as the game-winning goal and then tallied the first and third goals in a 4-0 win over Susquehanna. With both game-winning goals this week, Whitman leads the team with five this season.
   
Defensive Player of the Week
Krista Mundy
Scranton (So., GK, North Caldwell, N.J.)

Mundy posted two Landmark victories in goal this week with 16 saves and a .941 save percentage. In the first game against Moravian, Mundy racked up 12 saves, all in the second half to hold the Greyhounds at bay and preserve the 2-1 win. She earned a shutout on Saturday with four saves as Scranton defeated Susquehanna 4-0.

Notes:
It was a heavy conference week with six Landmark games. By the end of the day Saturday, Catholic, Drew and Scranton are perched at the top of the conference standings with 3-0 records and all three teams clinched spots in the playoffs.
